XL Bears Planning Meeting
Feb. 23rd, 2020 11:59 pm[Reconstructed from text messages and photos of the day.]
It was an early Sunday morning. I stopped by Burger King for a Fully Loaded Croissandwich on my way to South Everett Park and Ride. It wasn't bad, maybe a little greasy. I took the bus to Westlake Center, where I observed the food court had finally opened after construction, then hopped on the monorail and walked the three short blocks to Tanner's apartment where the meeting was held. I arrived early and noticed the doggie daycare across the street had a cute sign that read "WOOF! Play & Stay". A nice-looking gentleman older than Tanner (probably about my age) was helping him host the event; his name is Stophet (rhymes with prophet), which is Persian but Stophet says he isn't necessarily Persian himself.
Shaun called the meeting to order and we had a very good discussion. Ido and Sagi were there, also Marc and Henry. I met Jordan aka Pup Hydro, Brendan Mack, Ethan Oddy, an actual female Sister of Perpetual Indulgence named Dylan, and Blair J. Freedumbring (all except Dylan had been appearing on my Facebook "People You May Know" for some time). I saw Mike again, the tall bear who I complimented on his T-shirt after the Super Bowl. I did not see Gray or Robert. After the meeting proper ended, we had a nosh/light lunch of sandwiches, punch and pies, and a discussion regarding consent.
I hopped back on the monorail about five to three and had a quick connection with the bus, a Double Tall. Upstairs was fairly full on the bus. A tallish bear with a thick reddish chin beard snoozed in the seat opposite me. The rest of the day was fairly uneventful as Gary and I watched hockey the rest of the afternoon into the evening.
