One of my rare Fridays in the office, so I dug up one of the tie-dye dress shirts I used to wear every Friday.

Election day meme:
1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

And now for something completely different... (well maybe not quite.) Looks like that Ipod shuffle meme going around, but this one's a little different.

All of you chorines out there, grab the concert order of your upcoming or most recent concert.
Then take each title and add "in my pants" to the end.
Boldface any that are funny, or just completely sick and wrong, your preference.

Your Score: William Powell

You scored 14% Tough, 47% Roguish, 14% Friendly, and 23% Charming!

You are the classic rogue, a stylish rake with the devil of a wit and a flair for mischief, and you shake your martinis to waltz time. You are suave and debonair, but slightly untrustworthy, and women should be on their guard. If married, you are simply a bit of a flirt, even if it's just with your own wife...but if you're single, watch out. You usually rein yourself in to concentrate on one lovely beauty at a time, but with you, we never know. You're not a bad guy, but there's a playful devil behind your eyes, and those trying to get close to you should know they're playing with fire. You're stylish and fun, but you follow your own course, which may or may not include a steady gal. Co-stars include Myrna Loy and Carole Lombard, classy ladies with an adventurous streak.

Your Score: Katharine Hepburn

You scored 16% grit, 28% wit, 47% flair, and 14% class!

You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.

Seeing all those people posting about their Inner Daemon reminds me of the technical term daemon used in Unix and Unix-like operating systems. A daemon is a process that under ordinary circumstances does not die when a user logs off the system.

That said, it occurred to me that certain personality traits might make one want to compare oneself to one of the more common Unix daemons. Then I realized that a vanishingly small percentage of LJers would get it, so it wasn't worth me spending a couple hours making up a web form and putting it up for the purposes of making yet another meme.

So without further ado, I present... Your Inner Unix Daemon )

It seems the Memegen accent quiz can't quite figure out my accent. It suggests Philadelphia AND Midland AND Southern, all at the same time. Behold:

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Mid-Atlantic. This is what everyone calls a Philadelphia accent although it's also the accent of south Jersey, Baltimore, and Wilmington. Well, everyone that lives near there, that is. Outsiders can tell you talk differently from them even though they can't tell what your accent is.

Southern. Love it or hate it, your accent says you're probably from somewhere south of the Ohio River.

Midland. The Midland (please don't confuse with "Midwest") itself is the neutral zone between the North and South. But just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from there. Since it is considered a neutral, default, "non-regional" accent you could easily be from someplace without its own accent, like Florida, or a big city in the South like Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

The March "ask me anything" meme has only a few days left. Ask me here.

Also, the Seattle Men's Chorus presents That 80's Show this weekend at McCaw Hall in Seattle (click here for tickets). I have a featured role to play in one of the production numbers; tomorrow I find out exactly how big they're going to stage it. You'll just have to come and see to find out.

Starting tomorrow evening, most of my free time will be taken up with tech and dress rehearsal and performances. As a result, any questions will be answered in April.

I seldom wear my glasses in public anymore. I prefer contact lenses, if only because they allow (nay, require) me to wear sunglasses on sunny days and I'd rather not fumble for my snap-on shades.

But sunglasses are cool. I've been gravitating to this style:

Go to Pop Culture Madness (http://www.popculturemadness.com/Music/Pop-Modern/2006.html) and select the year you became 18. Snip the best 50 songs from the list and paste it in your journal. Bold the ones you like and strike the ones you dislike, italic the ones you know but don't like nor dislike and the ones you don't know will stay common text. (I've added comments on a few in monospace font.)

The list... )
