To our friends in the Great White North...
Jul. 2nd, 2004 05:53 pmHope y'all had a Happy Canada Day! ;-)
Unfortunately, between the gardeners and the utility contractors, somebody nicked our cable AGAIN (fifth time in two years), which knocked
gmjambear and I off the 'Net for just over 24 hours (and pretty much hosed our TV reception too).
This could all be avoided if Time Warner had buried the cable properly (an inch below the surface just Will Not Do) or used conduit. I think the added expense is entirely justified by the aggravation caused by their not doing the job right and the costs of repeatedly having to do it over.
Hmmm, just occurred to me that something I said would make a good slogan. Practice Safe Cable -- Use Conduit!
