A long time ago, in a kingdom far, far away, a king was making a journey to a neighboring kingdom to convey a message of great importance to both realms.

But between the two kingdoms there was fixed a great wall, with a gate guarded by two massive, yellow pincers. These automatic fingers would open and close, seemingly at random, and yet whoever tried to pass between them was invariably crushed, no matter how brave the knight or how fast his steed.

Suddenly a page-boy got the bright idea of traversing the gate on foot. He managed to convince the king to give him the message and try it. And lo and behold, the fingers stayed open and the page walked right on through. Some time later he returned with an answer from the neighboring king. And peace was preserved, and all lived happily ever after.

Thought I'd post an interesting quote from the Quick Hitts blog, written by one of my favorite commentators on the Nanny State.

It seems our friend Dave has been told one too many times he must not like Hillary Clinton because "she's a strong woman". His reply, in part:

A strong woman would never spend decades chained to a serial philanderer. She might forgive him for cheating on her the first time. Maybe she should have forgiven him the second time. But when he did it for the third time a strong woman would have told him the honeymoon was over, although in there case, they still had four days left.
