After the concert we caught the bus back into downtown, where we sat in the little circle that connects the halves of the articulated bus and watched all the little twisty and bendy pieces move as the bus steered around corners and down Capitol Hill.

Then we waited for a while to transfer to the Eastgate bus, and marveled at the assortment of bathroom fixtures in a tile shop on 2nd at Stewart until the bus came. As we arrived back at Eastgate we saw two of the special buses for the Mariners game pull in and begin slowly disgorging passengers because they had to pay their fare when they got off the bus.

A few random observations through the day:

Seattle is doing the pig thing again. All through the street festival and onto the surrounding blocks, pig sculptures clad in all sorts of different materials decorated the sidewalks.

Lots of tattoos were in evidence today. I saw one fellow whose arm was almost completely blacked out from the wrist to the elbow except for a few stripes left neatly undone. Another fellow waiting for the concert had rather elaborate tattoos on the backs of his calves.

Well, I'm out of writing time, need to get some sleep since SMC is singing at a Lutheran service in Lynnwood bright and early tomorrow. Seeya!
