gmjambear and I have just finished installing a Genie automatic garage door "picker-upper" to replace the Sears unit that came with the house, that died horribly about a week and a half ago.

We started Saturday afternoon dismantling the old unit and doing the major assembly of the new one. We decided to knock off when we discovered we'd mis-measured the high point of the door's travel.

Yesterday was spent correcting the measurement error, hanging the motor from the ceiling, and beginning the wiring process. Then we headed off to church.

Today was spent wiring and making adjustments. Securing wires to the wall should not be as difficult as it seemed to be. But at last it works.
