Brian Kinney turns straight?

gmjambear set our Digital Video Recorder (Time Warner now provides one in the cable box, for an added fee) to record Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (also known as "Law & Order: SVU", which often gets mangled as "Law & Order: SUV". No, wait, that show was on some years ago, but the real title was Walker, Texas Ranger. ;-) So we watched it this afternoon before the bear events of this evening.
Gale Harold, who plays Brian Kinney on Queer as Folk, guest starred in this episode, in which he played a doctor who claimed to clone babies to replace dead children of grief-stricken and wealthy parents. In fact he was doing no such thing, but was making babies performing in vitro fertilization on underage girls recruited from high-class tutoring agencies, using his own sperm. Of course, the whole scheme was discovered when one of the girls turned up dead in an alley after threatening to expose the fraud.
It struck me how similar his characters are despite their opposite sexualities. Gay or straight, both of these characters appear to be arrogant and horny bastards (well, okay, he wasn't really schtupping the girls in this case, but he was having them bear his children all the same, which this way seems to me even worse for all its super-sanitized falsity) looking out for nothing more than their own self-interest. Go figure.
