GALA Choruses Festival VIIe CD's just arrived.

Just wanted to try out using the LiveJournal client again. The other day I got a whole batch of CD's from GALA Choruses Festival VIIe International and I wanted to see if the "Detect Music" function of LiveJournal works when you enter the information into Media Player yourself (sadly it doesn't, but I entered it by hand).

I'm amazed again, listening to vaneramos' chorus among others perform on their individual CD's, how much really good music appears at these festivals.

Gosh, you ordered a copy of our CD? Cool. I just received mine last week, but I wasn't able to order any others. That anthem, "Rise with pride", was written by our own Terrilyn Coward. I wonder how many pieces performed at the festival were written by chorus members. I'll be singing with WWRC in its 10th anniversary concert on April 23, in case you can make it this way.

Since I'm on my chorus's Music Selection Committee, I wanted to get as much new music as possible, including any major commissioned works I missed due to the format of the Festival (in which you can only hear half the performances at most, because they run simultaneously). I also wanted to make sure to pick up any performances that really impressed me, and yours did.
Unfortunately I doubt we'll be able to make it to Guelph on the 23rd, but gmjambear and I will likely be in Toronto the following weekend (April 30-May 1) with the Empire Bears.

Oh yes. gmjambear had a lot of fun listening to "Hello, Hello" and trying to re-create the choralography. ;-)
