D'ough! -- and other small observations

• On Saturday gmjambear and I decided to have dinner at a nearby Pizza Hut. When we arrived we were turned away because -- get this -- they had run out of dough. My reaction: "D'ough!" ;-)
• Sunday, of course, was the religious holiday that is to single men what Valentine's Day is to couples: I refer, of course, to Palm Sunday.
• Coming up this week is Maundy Thursday (as some churches refer to it). The standard joke is mispronouncing "Maundy" as "Monday" and then asking pointedly "Is it Monday, or is it Thursday?"
• And speaking of churches, this morning on the way to work, I passed a storefront church with the name "Holy Redeemer Church of Deliverance". As some of you may know, I find it increasingly intriguing to see churches named like this, because I immediately think of Deliverance and start getting the earworm of "Dueling Banjos" running through my head.

Palm sunday is not just for single men. Think of all the poor married guys who don't get any.

You're on the mmusic committee, right? I have a suggestion. For around 4 years I've been wanting to sing the Samuel Barber Agnus Dei. I'd love to see the chorus pull it off. It is an amazing piece. If you haven't heard it, I can get you a copy. Totally amazing.
