In memory of John Hughes...

At the ballgame last night the announcer mentioned someone was from Blaine, WA (the little town at the Canadian border crossing of I-5).

Of course, the first thing that came to mind was "BLAINE? ... That's a major appliance, that's not a name!" (from Pretty In Pink, and yes, I know the spelling is not the same.)

RIP, John.

Aquasox or Mariners?

I'd really like to go to a game of the former sometime, since I can *cough* afford */cough* them.

Funny you should ask. We were going to go downtown to see the Mariners but after waiting 45 minutes for a Sound Transit bus that never came, we said "screw this" and drove in to town for the Aquasox game.

That danged Sound Transit (probably Metro operating ;))... seriously. One day we'll have reliable rail everywhere.

Actually it was the 510, operated by Community Transit. Looks like the buses were getting to Everett Station just fine, but something was blocking them southbound to South Everett Freeway Station.

Tickets range from $7.00 to $15.00. They are scheduled to play the last two weekends in August.

We will probably see another game before the end of the month. They are scheduled to play in Everett the last two weekends August. If you're interested, keep in touch.
