Folks,

This is a bloody awful thing to have to write so do NOT click through the lj-cut link if you are at all squeamish. No it is NOT a link to the Nick Berg execution video, but it may be more disturbing than any amount of watching that video could possibly be to all who love the USA.

It seems everywhere I look tonight I am finding links to people's descriptions of the anomalies in the video depicting the beheading of Nick Berg. Someone posted a summary of these to the Bears Mailing List in response to some statements of mine. Someone else posted this to soc.motss. One of the many links that this leads to in turn is right here on madwriter's LJ.

Suffice it to say that it is looking increasingly possible, outrageous as it may sound, that the CIA or others acting on its behalf, presumably with the tacit or even explicit approval of the White House, may have either killed Nick Berg themselves by other means or found him (conveniently) dead from mistreatment at Abu Ghraib, and then beheaded an already dead Berg in a theatrical manner for political reasons.

I would not ordinarily take any stock in a wild conspiracy theory such as this, but from those who have seen the video it has been noted that it is physically impossible for the actions depicted on the video to have been performed upon a live human being without massive spurting bloody mess all over, which is not in evidence in the video. The time stamps on the video don't match up. The audio is not in sync with the video. And on and on...

Once more, words fail me when it comes to the evil that, if this be even remotely close to the truth, has been brewed by our own government. And for what, precisely?

My greatest fear is, just as I suspected in my journal over a year ago, that Mad King George II is not above keeping himself in power by any means necessary, and the Constitution and the will of the American people be damned. A government prepared to murder one of its own citizens in cold blood (even if by surrogate means) just to have his severed head to wave around to frighten the country into giving up its freedom at the ballot box, clearly will not be squeamish, in the event the plot unravels, about merely abrogating an election result by force of arms.

God help us all.

Anyone else think that this year's election is going to be put on hold for national security reasons? Don't think that they [The Chimp and his Parliament] can't do it.

And Clinton was impeached for getting head.

One would think there would be not only enough evidence to get The Chimp out of office, but put away for a very long time.

Bushy Boy (well, more likely his little helpers) may well have frigged the last US election, but scary though it is - there is still a loooooong way from this to coup-d'etat. Ask that nice Mr Mugabe - he knows how to do it. Anyway, you can bet your booty that The Democrats are gonna be sooooooo on Georges' case for tricks and games this time.

As for Mr Nick Berg - yes, the orange jump suit had me puzzled (from the still pics in the media). Also WHAT THE HELL was he doing wondering around in an Arab/Islamic country with an Israeli stamp in his passport (especially having a Jewish name). Seems a tad suicidal to me (or as I've said before VERY Naive).

The truth though, is that we probably ain't gonna find out the real truth about Nick Berg's death - WHOEVER it was that decided to use him as a political football.

Thanks for the perspective. I tend to wonder what the Bushites are actually capable of, and with each dirty trick it seems there's little they won't do. All of which means it is even more imperative to get out the vote, to make sure the margin of victory over Bush is so large as to make any shenanigans so obvious they will not stand.

I agree with you that the truth behind Nick Berg's death will never be known -- there's no accountability in this Administration and if it really was manipulated by the CIA the authority for it must have come all the way from the top.

I hope that you don't mind me weighing in here (I came across your site via surfing a friends and coming across a comment from your partner). I too wondered about the timing of the Berg killing, soooooo politically convenient to Bush and co. I hope you don't mind me adding you to my friends site (we're fellow New Yorkers, sort of). I don't think that your questions here are conspiratorial. Aftter the events of the past two years, all bets are off.
