A Domain Of My Very Own

I decided I needed a little more Web space than my ISP (RoadRunner) is prepared to give me, so I went and bought hosting and a domain name from DreamHost, the same outfit we chose for the Empire Bears website. It's a pay service, but I find the flexibility is well worth the modest annual fee (which works out to $9.95 per month).

So I am now the proud owner of bigmacbear.com. I'm pleasantly surprised the name wasn't already taken.

This means I can post more of my pictures without running into the space crunch of my ISP provided web site nor the increasing restrictions of such services as Yahoo! Photos and the like.

I'm thinking I will want to leave at least some of the material on RoadRunner intact -- especially stuff I've already posted to LJ -- rather than have to slog through old entries and edit the links. Hey, as long as I'm on RR I may as well use the space there too.

i've been a client of dreamhost for 5 years now and can't say enough good things about them. i've never had a problem in all that time. cheers.
