Morning Check-In

Just to catch up, I ended up staying home from work last Tuesday & Wednesday since I had a sinus infection (on top of a cold) and the doctor said I'd be contagious for 2 days after starting a course of antibiotics. I'm feeling much better now although the antibiotics will last another few days and I shouldn't expect to be completely over it until they are all gone.
This weekend was the Corn Hill Arts Festival in which we have artists from all over the place set up tents on our front lawns and close the streets so people can shop. It's an inconvenience but it's fun all the same. At least we don't have to cook, with all the festival food around.
For the first year in a while we missed the GAGV Pride Picnic, partly due to the conflict with the Corn Hill Fest and not being able to move my car (we usually have to walk to a nearby industrial plant to pick up Gary's) and partly because I had to sing at church later that afternoon and would not be able to stay long enough to make it worth the admission ($10). I'm surprised to find I'm not all that terribly disappointed for missing it this year.
Friday evening will be interesting since some of us Empire Bears will be soaking in the hot tub at Frontier Field while enjoying a Rochester Red Wings game. There will be music from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and fireworks to follow. And -- this was pretty amusing to me when I found out -- it's Episcopalian Night too. (Talk about strange coincidences... ;-)
