An observation...

Does anyone else think that W drawing the analogy of Iraq to Vietnam, after so many years of avoiding it like the plague, is a political and strategic blunder of the same order of magnitude as Marie Antoinette's infamous remark, "Let them eat cake"? I do.

Dear, anything that SOB does, does not surprise me in the least. Why now of all things anyway?

Oh, wait, Rove is gone, so now Bush has to do things on his own now, dangerous, man's not that smart.

Well and to be fair, she never actually said that. Jean Jacques Rousseau remarked that he remembered a great french princess, who on being informed that the country people had no bread, replied, "Then let them eat cake." From what I've read on the subject, he was recalling something that had possibly happened before Marie was even born. After Marie's death, French propagandists most likely began to attribute this to her and it now lives in infamy.

That said, I don't think Bush is capable of any blunders that the public will actually do anything about. The public, in this case, has been taken out of the loop. Thanks, Repugs!

I concur.

It struck me as ironic, yes.
