Birthday

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

For those who wanted to know how the day went, it was fairly busy at work and no one there acknowledged my birthday, which in my opinion was just as well.

Then came the Empire Bears meeting. I was running late, and Gary ([livejournal.com profile] gmjambear) suggested I go on to the meeting without him and he would meet me there. Unfortunately, we were without a quorum, which would be remedied on Gary's arrival. We discussed the usual business intending to make all the votes once we had a quorum. As the meeting wore on, and Gary was nowhere to be found, I called home and got no answer. Some of the members then began making insinuations about what he was doing that he couldn't come to the phone, which (although I did relay them onto Gary's answering machine at the time) I oughtn't repeat here. ;-)

An hour or so into the meeting, and Gary showed up -- bearing a birthday cake for me, with candles lit and everything. The Bears began singing "Happy Birthday" and all that. That was very sweet!

The business of the meeting then concluded at a rapid pace, we chit-chatted for a while and went home. I got some phone messages from my mom and my sister, and went to sleep. All in all, a low-key but fun day.

The next evening, as I predicted RGMC rehearsal was very interesting, if only because my birthday is shared with two other Chorines, plus our Producer's birthday was the following day (Friday). So someone brought a big cake and we all sang "Happy Birthday" yet again.

Today I opened a card from my sisters which talked about "a squirrel looks at turning 40". The squirrel was saying "ANYBODY SEEN MY NUTS?!?! THEY WERE RIGHT HERE!!!" and so on. ;-)
