Observations on Inauguration Day

Note to self: If called upon to sing "America (My Country 'Tis of Thee)" in public, do not stop to take a breath in the middle of the word "Country". (At least the Queen of Soul didn't pronounce the "t" until she was done taking her breath, or it would not have been pretty.)

I keep wanting to call Rev. Rick Warren's church "Brokeback" instead of "Saddleback". No clue why... ;-)

I am so gratified that we weren't treated to a chorus of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from either the former President or the former Vice President, as I'd feared. In fact, George II didn't even get around to pardoning his partners in crime.

How wonderful it is to hear a President who speaks in complete sentences and imaginative, soaring prose, as opposed to mangled syntax, malapropisms, and repetitive slogans (September the 11th -- apply directly to the forehead).

Oh, that's BEAUTIFUL

I can see a David Horsey comic with this caption:

"September the 11th -- apply directly to the forehead"

HAHAHAHAHA.

So sad that The Queen of Soul had the "Attack of the Giant Bow" right before she came on to sing. Looked like something out of a bad Sci-Fi movie.

I really believe that Obama has given them a false sense of security that he won't go after them for war crimes. I don't know if it's true or not, but I would LOVE to see them hang for killing all those people.

Although I understand the feelings, it would not help our country. We need to heal rifts and unite in our struggles at this point-finding good solutions to the trails we face.

You seem to forget that 45% of this country voted for
John McCane and believes in his way-of-thinking.

It is not prudent nor wise.

No. I do believe it would help our country. we constantly throw people away in jail forever for some things, and yet the guilty walk free for the most heinous of crimes.

I don't forget that 45% of the country voted for McCain. But I truly believe that people need to be held accountable. Not just war crimes, but wall-street fraud, and even this bailout crap.

What's the message we send out if we don't prosecute? Oh, we know you did bad, but the country needs to heal???

I believe if prosecuted, more will come to light than already has, and more than just the 55% who voted for Obama will agree that they must answer for what they have done. And this isn't even an Obama/McCain talk, this is Obama v Bush &Co.

I'm not one for promoting Godwin's Law, but that line of thinking says that maybe we shouldn't have prosecuted Nazi war criminals cause we're opening old wounds and we need the world to heal? No, they should be held accountable for their actions. This. Is. No. Different.
